However, excessive use of smartphones, especially in harmful ways, can lead to addiction and hinder our relationships with God and others. Let's reflect on a few points: 1. Let’s talk about the Distraction in Worship when using a smart device: Using smartphones during church, especially during preaching, can distract us from focusing on God's Word. It's essential to be present and attentive during these sacred moments. 2. We need to open up our eyes and minds to the virtual violence and harm that gaming and too much social media cause: Engaging in games or activities that promote virtual violence and harm to others goes against the teachings of love and compassion that Jesus has shown us. We must be mindful of the content we consume and its impact on our hearts and minds. 3. And last not least aren’t we neglecting real-Life connections when spending our days behind small screens? Excessive smartphone use can cause us to neglect real-life connections, including our relationships with family, friends, and the church community. God calls us to love one another and be fully present in our interactions. ### Let’s discuss how we can find balance and using Smartphones wisely: Now that we understand the challenges, let's explore practical ways to use our smartphones wisely and for the benefit of all: 1. **Set Priorities:** Let's prioritize our time with God during worship. Designate specific times for reading the Bible, praying, and engaging in worship without distractions. Encourage one another to be fully present. 2. **Digital Detox:** Take regular breaks from smartphones and social media.
