To quote from the website: "About four years ago, the Beluga School for Life was founded in the south of [Thailand](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g293915-Thailand-Vacations.html). What started as an aid project for tsunami orphans and people in need has long grown into a small village community. Currently, about 150 children live in the project near Khao Lak, attend the kindergarten or school there and have found a new home. The educational concept includes practically relevant, transdisciplinary projects designed to prepare the children for their future in the best possible way." You can go for the day or stay overnight in one of the lovely bungalows and join in the activities or laze by the pool with the backdrop of the mountains surrounding you. Go back along Highway 4 until you reach a main intersection on your left signposted Surat Thani / Phang Nga (this is a nice way to go down to Phang Nga Bay too) and keep to the left. The Beluga School for Life is signposted on your left. Follow the directions through local villages and beautiful scenery to the centre. The Impressions link on the website is particularly impressive, showing both guest living and school areas. I hope you enjoy a visit as much as we did. We were fortunate to attend a concert featuring some kids displaying the musical and dancing skills they had acquired. The concert ended with a performance by the Snapper Brothers, the superb resident band at the Happy Snapper Bar in Khao Lak.
